Port Grand food,shopping an entertaining deluxe of Karachi is the billion rupee project of the joint efforts mde by the Karachi Port Trust and a private company Grand Leisure Corporation. Chief Executive of Grand Leisure Corporation Shahid Firoz said " Port Grand is an effort to revive the culture and traditions of old Karachi as well as celebrate it as the City of Lights. It has revived tha harbour culture ie, seafood, boating around tha mangroves, pedestarian friendly harbour front experience etc". This one kilometer bridge is a center of shopping, culture, dinning and lakeshore activities in the city. There are several foreign food chains and retail stores have established their outlets. Presently, 40 outlets are functioning there. The prices are very reasonable and affordable to the public of every class. The entry fees for Port Grand is 300 PKR and 200 PKR out of this return to trade in at any restaurants and outlets inside."The Governor of Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad claimed, people would find peace and comfort, turned out to be quite the opposite,"
The project is first of its kind along the city as well as country where a exceptional attention has been given to each and every detail including attractive and beautiful hard and soft landscapes, nautical accents and 19th century lanterns/furniture. The Port Grand is country's only harbour front food and dntertainment dominance which grant matchless attractions for the entire family to entire together. Thousands of people vists Port Grand daily from beyond the Country. After hearing many positive and attracting tales of the food street, my family also decided to visit Karachi's top tourist destination. It is natural that expectations and exictment to vist the place was on its peak. As we appraoches to Karachi we planned to vist the Port Grand. When we reached to the venue, there was joined scores of other people with us. By a good walk of 2 minutes we came to the gate, after a short que for tickets we enter inn. On the right side, we see many childrens and women taking the joyfull ride tonga. In the center of this project, there was a group of Balochi dancers entertaining the crowd by their traditional dance, this choked us more and more. After watching the enchanting performance, we headed towards the food court area. On the right side, i noticed a majestic old tree which has seenso good. It was a pleasent night, the winds were very soft and quite which enhances the beauty and peace of the place. A blind Flute player compliment the smooth and calm atmosphere with his joyable and melodious tone of flute.
On wednesday, there is a special offer for womens, there is no entry fees and special discount on food for them as they celebrate it as women day. Coming to the part of food, there was very nice looking and inviting restaurants with variety of foods. The Port Grand maintains the international standard of food. I decided to have some desi food so we choose to have dinner at Ghaffar's Kebab house. It is the best dining spot at Port Grand.
For those who have not yet visit Port Grand I would suggest at least one visit is indeed. Ohh and yes, for the universities going students, keep an eye for discounts as Port Grand offers free entry to certain top ranked Universities students
